Over 1000 students to visit Kermadec Exhibition

More than 1000 primary school students will visit the Kermadec Exhibition at the New Zealand High Commission in Nuku'alofa from 22 May - 1 June 2012.In May 2011 the Kermadec Initiative of the Pew Environment Group invited nine of the South Pacific's most prestigious and higly-acclaimed artists to join them on the navy ship HMNZS Otago to voyage from New Zealand, through the Kermadec region, to Tonga.  The resultant Kermadec Exhibition is a celebration of that journey.'It is a privilege for ...

Scenic puts stamp on Tonga hotel

New Zealand-owned Scenic Hotel Group will reopen a hotel in Tonga as part of a strategy to move into underdeveloped tourism markets in the Pacific.  Next Monday it will launch the four-star Scenic Hotel Tonga on Tongatapu as part of a joint venture with business partner Terry Hayden. The hotel is five minutes from a top-rated snorkelling beach - Fua'amotu - and half an hour from the capital, Nuku'alofa. For the full story click here.

Business as usual after Tropical Cyclone Jasmine

MS Albatros calls into Nuku'alofa Harbour

The MS Albatros calls into Nuku'alofa Harbour this morning after visiting Vava'u yesterday (1 February).  This is the first cruise ship to call into The Kingdom of Tonga for this year.On board are 800 passengers, mainly from Germany. 2012 'Eva Mai Tonga Tourism Experience

The Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Community are finalizing the activities for the 'Eva Mai Tonga Tourism Experience.The 'Eva Mai will be held from the 6 - 10 March 2012.According to the Ministry of Tourism, 'registrations are coming in from wholesalers/travel agents selling Tonga in the United States, NZ and Australia. Good start for the 2012 Fishing Season
